I agree that you need to find some common standard in a team of developers.

The point is, best practices aren’t generalizable to all projects and all teams. It really depends what you’re working on.

So my intention isn’t that you throw all your best practices into the mud, but that you question them any time you start a new project and assess what you need for this specific task.
