The aspect that projects have a tendency to grow is an important one. I think it’s okay to draft a project in Python because it gives you a feeling for how it will work and you might become aware of obvious bugs before they happen. However, a rewriting the draft in another language as a second step should be mandatory in environments where projects grow over time.
