I agree with you that you shouldn’t blindly follow “best practices.”

Also, I like the fact that you used quotation marks in your response because it highlights a very important point — “best practices” aren’t best in every situation.

Testing your code is a “best practice,” but you’ve experienced situations yourself in which those tests became a pain.
