Those are some great thoughts. Regarding top-down versus bottom-up solutions — indeed a lot of ESG-related regulation is currently being passed, and we'll see how this might change things in the next few years. The EU has been quite ambitious with its regulation, whereas Switzerland and the US have adopted much more lax approaches. On the other hand I do see a lot more grassroots movements in those jurisdictions; individuals and corporations are trying to fill the gap where governments are falling short.

That being said, I agree that it might be better to constrain creation of AI images of real people; this also helps with mitigating misuse!
